Global attraction experience software specialists n-gage.io has announced a further new contract win with Wild Planet Trust, which has launched its mobile app and attraction management software at both Paignton and Newquay Zoo to help transform the visitor experience. Wild Planet Trust is responsible for both sites, located in Devon and Cornwall respectively, welcoming a combined 550,000 visitors each year.

Wild Planet Trust, formerly Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust, is a registered education, scientific and conservation charity established in 1957 and based in Devon managing both Paignton and Newquay Zoo, along with three nature reserves. Both Paignton and Newquay Zoo help to provide safe havens for
endangered species. They also give visitors the chance to see and learn about a vast range of plants and animals from across the world, and to understand why their survival is so vital.

The zoos have just unveiled a new visitor experience mobile app to help improve conservation education, navigation, and interactive engagement across both their sites.

Given the organisation’s reputation for promoting conservation education, the team at Wild Planet Trust appointed attraction experience specialists at n-gage.io to explore how mobile technology could play a wider part in their visitor engagement strategy whilst also introducing a host of interactive features in a new mobile app to enhance the zoo visitor experience across both sites.

The n-gage.io solution pairs the SaaS platform's highly customisable visitor mobile app with its powerful attraction management software to deliver the Wild Planet Trust team both the tools and data insights it needs to enhance the visitor experience and deepen engagement with them in real-time. As part of a multi-site deployment, the app intelligently presents the visitor experience for each zoo – based on the app user’s location – with the option of also switching content manually.

Wild Planet Trust now plans to use the app as a focal point for its zoo visitors, to provide even more rich content and media on their wide-ranging species, along with further information on their conservation work both at home and abroad. Visitors can now benefit from the impact of digital navigation, finding their way around the sites and other points of interest using the app’s wayfinding solution. The team has also introduced several new digital trails using the software’s innovative trail builder feature, to encourage even more exploration.

The team also plans to use the app to keep zoo visitors up to date with details of their latest campaigns, conservation activity and event programmes. Meanwhile, the marketing team is making use of valuable data insights to refine marketing campaigns and to drive the conservation agenda through targeted and personalised in-app messaging.

"We're excited to launch our new Wild Planet Trust App and offer our visitors an enhanced digital experience", said Susanne Halliday, Head of Visitor Services. “The technology will certainly help us to enhance the on-site visitor experience and deepen engagement, whilst learning so much more about visitor behaviour. The level of insights we’re able to gain is unprecedented, and will provide the whole team with a much better understanding of how visitors are engaging with us, in turn helping us to measure our impact and performance.”

"We're thrilled to be supporting the work of the Wild Planet Trust across their sites", said Bryan Hoare CEO of n-gage.io. "The Trust is renowned for their work in conservation, and it’s great to know our technology is playing a key role in helping them to raise further awareness, whilst giving the team the tools to capture valuable visitor data insights to help improve their operations”
